Holiday parades for families in Champaign-Urbana and beyond

We have all the Christmas and holiday parades that the kids will love.

We’ve put together a list of all the Christmas Holiday Parades in Champaign-Urbana and beyond for your convenience, in case you want to visit one or more parades this season.

The following parades can be found in Champaign, McLean, Ford, and Iroquois counties, so don’t worry if you miss one. Generally, they are less than an hour from Champaign-Urbana.

Please note that some parades may be canceled or postponed in the event of bad weather, so if in doubt, check first.

Gibson Town Christmas Parade

Location: Town of Gibson, Town of Gibson
Time: 6:30 p.m.
The tradition returns! Gibson City is bringing back its traditional Illuminated Holiday Parade this year, with a festive parade taking place in downtown Gibson City.

Farmers Town Christmas Parade

Location: Downtown Farmer City, Farmer City
Time: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
One of the largest Christmas parades in central Illinois with marching bands, holiday floats, Shriners, vintage cars and tractors, and more!

Champaign Center Parade of Lights

Location: Downtown Champaign, Champaign
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The Local Shop holiday season officially kicks off on Saturday, November 26 in the heart of Downtown Champaign! Join Champaign Center to see a procession of illuminated floats followed by the one and only Santa Claus riding his sleigh during the 22nd Annual Champaign Center Parade of Lights, presented by Christie Clinic! Lighting of the tree and visit of Santa Claus after the parade. Activities include a chili/hot dog dinner, hot chocolate, craft bazaar and more!

Rantoul Illuminated Christmas Parade

Location: Downtown, Rantoul
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
This illuminated parade starts at 6 p.m. and features post-parade activities like crafts, tours and photos with Santa and more. The parade will start on Chanute, turn left on Sangamon Avenue and continue to downtown Rantoul. It will end in Roger’s old parking lot, located off Kentucky Ave.

Weldon Village Christmas

Location: Weldon Town Hall, Weldon
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Head to Weldon for their annual Weldon Village Christmas!! They will kick off the holiday season with an illuminated Christmas parade!

Decatur Christmas Parade

Location: Downtown Decatur, Decatur
Time: 4:30 p.m.
Kick off your holiday season with the Decatur 2022 Christmas Parade! Head to downtown Decatur on Saturday, December 3 for a Decatur vacation staple filled with fun floats, great music, local celebrities, delicious candy, and more. Effingham’s home town illuminated Christmas parade

Location: Effingham Town Centre, Effingham
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Location: Downtown Danville, Danville
