Victorian splendor with a touch of fun – it’s Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. The one-of-a-kind resort is fashioned after the 1800s heyday of the New York resort retreat of the same name. Building on the resort’s fame for horse racing and the finer things, Disney has recreated Saratoga Springs in epic splendor and nestled it between a beautiful golf course and iconic Lake Buena Vista. Come relax at this time-stamped resort in Walt Disney World.
Saratoga Springs is located just across the lake from Disney Sources. A reasonable 15-minute walk will put resort guests right in the heart of shopping and dining. A bus service can take guests to parks and other locations on the property.
The variety of room types and sizes at this resort is truly remarkable. Rooms range from as small as studios for four to large three-bedroom villas for twelve, with an assortment of sizes in between. The resort’s most unique rooms are the nine-person, three-bedroom Treehouse Villas.
These villas offer a unique circular layout on the second floor, surrounded by forested views and the soundtrack of nature. To be honest, these villas have more in common with Fort Desert than the rest of Saratoga Springs. They really are as far apart as it gets at WDW. Having a car is pretty much essential for a happy stay at these villas, as Uber and Lyft vehicles can’t drive through the gated entrance when it’s unstaffed. The nearest shuttle stop is always a good distance from the villas. Trips to the Saratoga Springs hub will really burn some calories. If you’re looking for a true getaway, the Treehouse Villas might be the perfect fit. The PlanDisney PDF pocket guide offers more details on the different room types.
Saratoga Springs offers several admirable dining options. The Turf Club Bar & Grill places diners in a classic horse racing themed setting, while surrounding them with views of the golf greens and glistening ripples of the lake.
The artist’s palette offers customers an assortment of classic American dishes through walk-in stations and open seating. But who are we kidding? A quick walk to Disney Springs will offer almost any type of food and any price under the hot Florida sun!
Looking for some sundries and resort items? The artist’s palette also meets this need. If you’re looking to commemorate your epic 18-hole golf game, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Pro Shop has you covered in style.
Water is plentiful in Saratoga Springs, for those who want to get wet. The resort has five – count them – FIVE swimming pools. Two of them have swimming pools, including the High Rock Spring pool and the Paddock pool. Both feature long waterslides, zero-depth entry areas, children’s play areas, hot tubs, and nearby outdoor food and drink. The High Rock Spring pool hosts many family activities throughout the day. Three other leisure pools dot the resort’s remaining campus, including the Treehouse Villas, Congress Park, and Grandstand areas of the resort. These pools are intended for quieter use and all include whirlpool areas.
Saratoga Springs offers nightly campfires and movies under the stars, as well as fishing, bike rentals, tennis, and basketball. At the community room, guests will find ping-pong, foosball, arts and crafts, video games, DVDs, board games, and sports equipment rentals. Runners have a choice of two beautiful running tracks, one of which is nearly a mile and a half long.
Golfers rejoice! Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is packed with gorgeous greens and sparkling water hazards. This is a challenging course, rated four stars by Golf Digest magazine. Game fees include GPS-equipped cart rentals, so relax and enjoy the ride.
After a day in the parks or 18 holes on the golf course, adults can relax at Senses – A Disney Spa. Pamper yourself while enjoying massages, facials, body treatments, and wraps, plus a wet relaxation area with hot tub, heated loungers, and steam room. While the adults relax, the kids have fun spending their parents’ money at Win, Place or Show Arcade.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa offers a quieter, more relaxing resort atmosphere, while placing guests steps away from the vibrant entertainment of Disney Springs. Either way you lean, this resort is a win-win!
