The highly anticipated sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog features the return of many key characters, but also brings in newcomers like Idris Elba.

After Paramount’s huge success with sonic the hedgehog in 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down theaters, a sequel was ordered at supersonic speed. A film adaptation of the popular SEGA video game franchise, Sonic had taken almost 30 years to prepare before being released on the big screen. While there were a few bumps along the way in terms of art styles, the family film had one of biggest opening weekends for a video game movie after grossing over $57 million in just a few days. Due to the high praise for the first installment, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the next sequel, eager to see old characters again and welcome new ones. Let’s see who’s in the sequel and who they’re playing.
