The Yakuza’s Guide to Childcare is a slice of life anime produced by Gaia and feel. After the trip to the hospital, life goes on for the Sakuragi family members. But as with many these days, times are tough and the wallet isn’t as full as it once was. But the boss has a new idea to bring extra income into The Yakuza’s Guide to Childcare Episode 4.

During this week’s opening scene, we see a message from the studio thanking fans for enjoying the show and informing them that for some reason the scheduled episode isn’t the one we’re getting. Instead, in their own words, we get something “even more ridiculous”. Ridiculous is a big word to describe the events of The Yakuza’s Guide to Childcare Episode 4. With the family’s money so tight, the boss decides that Kirishima and Sugihara should start a streaming show to help boost their income. After all, the boss heard there was a lot of money to be made streaming.

Right off the bat, this idea certainly fits the ridiculous description the creators open the episode with. Expecting someone to make a ton of money streaming overnight is like expecting them to start playing professional sports. After all, people get rich playing this, don’t they? But, luckily, Kirishima and Sugihara are as fun to watch for people in their world as they are for us, it seems. And their Youtube channel, Team Cherry, is taking off quickly. While Team Cherry’s bizarre antics fill the better part of The Yakuza’s Guide to Childcare Episode 4the episode still leaves time for a bit of the show’s signature sweetness.

As the popularity of the stream takes off, Kirishima finds himself less and less at home. This causes him to miss his regular activities like taking Yaeka to school in the morning. The absence of these simple moments begins to accumulate in Kirishima as the story progresses. This not only adds a bit of emotion to the episode’s narrative, but further expands Kirishima’s character.

While the series lead never projected any traits that would make the man suspect he’s overambitious, this is the first time we’ve seen him in a way that actively opposes the concept. His desire to return to his quiet life with the family and accompany Yaeka to school speaks volumes about the simplicity of the man’s heart.

The Yakuza’s Guide to Childcare Episode 4 wholeheartedly delivers on the ridiculous nature of the family’s streaming sensation. The streaming antics used to propel him to stardom are bizarre and exactly the kind of thing I think would work in real life. Each goofy clip brings its visual humor wonderfully.

When all is said and done, The Yakuza’s Guide to Childcare Episode 4 pulls off this unexpected filler episode beautifully. If all filler stories could land like this, the term wouldn’t be so feared in the anime community.

The Yakuza’s Guide to Childcare Episode 4 is streaming now Crunchyroll.
