Walkthrough and Passwords from the Far Future | Live a live guide

0

The distant future is one of the simplest story chapters presented in live alive, although that’s largely because it serves a different purpose – it’s primarily a dump of narrative information, supplemented with a tiny bit of combat. In the larger scheme of things in Live A Live, we classify it as the simplest storyline – but it’s still medium in length.

Due to the story-heavy nature of this chapter, we don’t recommend it as a first chapter – save it for later. This walkthrough to the Distant Future chapter will walk you through the process, mostly focusing on who you need to interact with and when to advance the story. If you need help with another chapter, return to our Live A Live walkthrough home page.

Far from Earth, in the vast void of space, the Cogito Ergo Sum cargo freighter is slowly returning home. On board this tiny ship, a new form of life was born. Alas, as a series of incidents jeopardize the safety and well-being of the ship’s crew, this self-contained but newly built support unit by Engineer Kato must work with its creators to ensure that all is not lost…

Distant Future is set in much colder, more mechanical confines than other Live A Live chapters – even if it’s talking.

Live A Live: The Distant Future Chapter Walkthrough

As we said, of all the scenarios in Live A Live, the distant future is the easiest to understand. The story of Cutsey’s protagonist, Cube, progresses mostly by interacting with the ship’s crewmates – and as such this guide takes the form of a list, detailing who to talk to and when in order to progress this storyline and ultimately to finish it. At the end of all this, you will face a boss.

  • Start by moving around, the engineer will introduce himself as Kato. Leave the room and talk to Kato. He will bring you to the service module room.
  • Examine the system interface. Name the protagonist. You will get a full view of the map by pressing the Minus – button on your Switch.

  • Look for Kato through the northern corridor.
  • Enter the cryostasis chamber. Examine the control panel on the north side.
  • Examine each of the Cryostasis modules. After the event, examine Huey.
  • After the briefing, look for the recreation room. This is located northwest of the ship.
  • In the recreation room, talk to Huey then to Kato. Use the coffee machine next to him.
  • Then talk to Commander Darthe.
  • After the event scene, you can also examine the arcade machine on the left. If you examine the arcade machine, you will be playing a video game called Captain Square. This is where most of the fighting takes place in the Cube storyline. I would recommend playing this minigame after finding the memory card. This way you can keep progressing if you decide to stop the fight. If you beat the entire game right now, there’s an extra scene with Kirk and Rachel right now.

  • Exit the room and look for an elevator at the north or south end and go to level 3.

  • Then enter the main computer room and talk to Kato. Then choose to go to the cargo hold with Kato.
  • After the event scene, you can examine the Behemoth if you wish. But leave the hold and go back to level 3.
  • Enter the bridge. Then talk to everyone. After Kato and Huey leave, talk to Rachel.
  • Leave the bridge and talk to the elevator to level 1. Enter the airlock room. (You can also trigger a game scene by pressing the Airlock button 1 then 2.)

  • Then take the elevator to level 3. Go to the bridge and talk to Huey.
  • Upgrade to Level 2 and gain access to the Wellness Module – Medical Bay.
  • Talk to Rachel then to Commander Darthe.
  • Head to level 3 and head to the bridge. Then talk to Kato.
  • After the event, examine the coffee machine and offer it to Huey.
  • Find Kirk’s neighborhoods on the map. You will need to enter your character’s name to access the room. Talk to everyone here and interact with objects.
  • If you want it Memory card Key object, examine the panel near the bed and enter “lightning speed” as the password. You will get a hint that Kirk has the memory card hidden under the bed. You can then retrieve it.
  • Head to the airlock room on level 1 and talk to Huey.
  • Go back to level 2 and head to the medical bay.
  • After the event, return to the airlock room and report to Huey.
  • Return to the medical bay on level 2.
  • Leave Rachel’s room and go to the airlock room on level 1.
  • After seeing the event, go to the cargo hold.
  • Examine the Behemoth control panel. Then leave the room and try to head south.
  • Escape the Behemoth and return to the airlock room.
  • Talk to Commander Darthe.
  • In the recreation room, examine the coffee machine and offer the coffee to Rachel.
  • After the event scene, check the main monitor screen until everyone leaves the room.
Now that you have the memory card, it’s a good time to play Captain’s Square if you want. The game consists of 9 battles across the planets of the solar system… and Pluto. Playing the game is just for fun.

Mercury: Use Plasma Ball on ranged enemies.
Venus: Use Plasma Ball on ranged enemies. Electric tiles will heal them, but they should still go down easily.
Earth: Allows a Waterspout to cast Aquaflare to leave water tiles on the field. Then lure the Firewhirl into the field to kill it instantly. Then use weak attacks like Spinning Star to mop up waterspouts.
March: You want to focus your attacks on the Teil Broodmother, the darkest of enemies. Recommend using a powerful single target attack like Quark Sword. Remember that Plasma Charge can be used to heal and buff in the blink of an eye. It may take a bit of luck depending on whether you can miss one of the enemies with their Teil Whip attacks.
Jupiter: Enemies here heal electric fields. Pion Bomb is decent at taking them down, try to position yourself to hit as many of them as possible. Make sure you don’t stand in electric tiles, the damage adds up.
Saturn: The enemies here do not move. Just walk away, use Plasma Ball to damage the Gemparapet, and place an Electric tile under it. Use Plasma Charge to heal yourself.
Uranus: More troublesome electric tiles. Your target here is the enemy of El Mirage. You can use Quark Sword to wipe out a single Pymli if needed. Then you can use Pion Bomb multiple times to take out a handful. In order to defeat El Mirage, use Supernova to create a fire tile, then lure El Mirage onto it.
Neptune: You want to target the star named Lala instead of Lalu. Move next to Lala and use the Tachyon Sword on it twice.
Pluto: Move away from the Polka-dot X as they will explode if you stand near them. On top of that, it will leave a fire tile. Cosmic Suicide Headbutt can interrupt your abilities, which is frustrating. Keep your distance and use ranged skills like Pion Bomb, Plasma Ball or Spacephage to attack.

  • Find everyone in the hallway. Then look for the Service Mod room, be careful when exploring now, the Behemoth can be anywhere. Meeting him will lead to a game over.
  • Inside the service pod room, examine the control panel. You will get the password”OAKFDE
  • Then head to the Cryostatis chamber just directly north.
  • After this event, you will get the Powered Prybar.
  • Go to the captain’s room. Then check the computer terminal on the left to hear the audio logs.
  • Then look for the reserve module room. Enter your name to enter. Inside, read the computer logs.
  • Return to the captain’s room and talk to Kato.
  • During this scene you will be separated, use the Prybar to open the door and go down to level 1.
  • Go through the bunker room and take the south exit to the elevator. Upgrade to level 3.
  • Cross the corridor and use the lever to pass. Find the elevator and go down to level 2.
  • Go down until you see the fake cube, follow it, it will lead you to Kato’s room.
  • Talk to the fake Cube and respond with Roundy.
  • After the event scene, all elevators are disabled. Go north to the elevator, use the Prybar to the well next to the door.
  • Go downstairs and look for Kato in his room. Talk to him.
  • Then go back upstairs and meet Commander Darthe.
  • After receiving the Communicator from Commander Darthe, go down to the recreation room. Examine the Captain Square arcade cabinet and use the Communicator.
  • Engage in the boss fight.

boss fight: MUR-TH-UR Matrix, Stabilizer

HP: Matrix MUR-TH-UR: 448, Stabilizer: 50

Cube is surprisingly incredible in combat. Cube’s has a whole arsenal that can do it all in this fight.

The 8 Stabilization Units are actually pretty harmless, but if they move they will try to restore the main computer’s health. You need to remove part of the stabilizer first so it can’t restore the main boss’ HP.

The best approach to fighting the main boss is to hide in the very corner of the map and then spam the Maser Cannon. It can deal around 180-240 damage. End this boss fight pretty quickly. If you hurt yourself. Luckily, Cube is also blessed with healing abilities.

  • Then the last teammate will appear in the ship. If you offer him coffee, the game will end. There are still other things you can do.
  • If you don’t offer the coffee and choose to walk around. Go to the service module room and access the terminal. You will get a password, JUDGE.
  • You can use this password to access the main computer room on level 3. Enter JUDGE as a password to enter. Then enter OAKFDE as a priority key. You will find the main evaluation of the computer.

That’s all there is to this scenario. Offer coffee to the last teammate whenever you want to see the end. Then save the clear data, as you will need it for the final scenario.
