The Guelph Mall has partnered with the Lions Dog Guides Foundation of Canada to showcase the mall’s sponsored guide dog’s journey from puppyhood to teenage years, showcasing his training and more throughout his life. service path.

The mission of Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs is to enable Canadians with disabilities to navigate their world with confidence and independence by providing free guide dogs and supporting each couple on their journey together, a press release read.

The largest school of its kind in Canada, the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs is located in Oakville with a breeding and training center in Breslau.

Guide dogs from seven separate programs are offered free of charge to eligible Canadians from coast to coast. From breeding to breeding and training with a lifetime of aftercare services, each guide dog costs $35,000 to train and place, the statement said. The foundation depends on donations to provide these special matches and receives no government funding.

The sponsorship began in March 2022 with the mall’s financial commitment to the Lions Guide Dogs Foundation of Canada.
