Your guide to the start of Northeastern University 2022 at Fenway


Promotion 2022, it’s your day.

The stands at Fenway Park will be packed with fans of the Northeastern 2022 graduates during their commencement ceremonies at Boston’s famed ballpark on Friday, May 13.

Here’s everything graduates and their guests need to know to get out of the park.

When should I arrive?

Members of the class of 2022 and their guests will attend either the graduation ceremony in the morning or the undergraduate ceremony in the afternoon. (All times are Eastern.)

Graduation officially begins at 10 a.m. and the procession begins at 8:40 a.m. Graduates must arrive by 7:30 a.m. Park gates will open for guests at 8:00 a.m.

The undergraduate ceremony officially begins at 5 p.m. and the procession at 3:40 p.m. Graduates must arrive by 2:30 p.m. The park gates will open for guests at the same time.

Separate ceremonies for the College of Professional Studies and the Faculty of Law will take place next week. The College of Professional Studies will hold its graduation and doctoral graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, and its bachelor’s and master’s graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 20. The law school ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, May 20. All three ceremonies will take place at Matthews Arena.

the Doctor of Philosophy Hood and Graduation Ceremony took place on Monday, May 9.

Where should I enter?

Graduates must enter Fenway Park through Gate B. Guests must enter through Gates A, D, or E.

Where can I park?

Free parking is available on the Northeastern campus in Boston at the Columbus Parking Garage (795 Columbus Avenue) using the pass available online, here. The garage is about a mile from Fenway Park – students and their guests can walk or call a carpool.

Park near Fenway Park is limited.

I don’t want to drive. How else can I get there?

From campus, Fenway Park is about a mile on foot.

The place is also accessible through the MBTA: Take the Green Line branch D to the Fenway stop, then it’s a short walk to the park. You can also take the Green Line Branch B or C trains to Kenmore and follow signs to Fenway Park. Green Line Branch E does not go to Fenway Park.

What can I bring?

Make sure you have your ticket with you at the door. Graduates must wear their cap and gown.

Do not bring a bag: With the exception of diaper bags, medical items and bags 5″x9″x2″ or smaller, bags are prohibited at the ballpark. Flowers and balloons are also prohibited inside Fenway Park. Graduates may wear Hawaiian collars. More details can be found on the website security website.

Guests may bring an unopened, clear, disposable plastic water bottle to security. Water will be available for purchase in the park and Fenway Park concessions will be open prior to the start of each ceremony. Fenway Park concessions only accept credit cards.

Where can I watch the ceremony?

Each graduating student received six guest tickets for the live ceremony. For those unable to attend in person, the ceremonies will also be streamed live in college Home Page and on the Northeast Facebook page as well.
